Veritas Journal of Social, Legal and Humanistic Studies (VJSLHS) is committed to the long-term preservation, accessibility, and integrity of all published scholarly content. Published by The Global Publishers, the journal implements a comprehensive digital preservation strategy to ensure that research remains permanently available to the global academic community and future generations of scholars.

1. Digital Preservation Strategy

VJSLHS employs a multi-layered digital preservation system designed to safeguard published research against data loss, technical failures, and technological obsolescence. Our preservation infrastructure includes:

  • Primary and Backup Servers: All journal content is hosted on a secure primary server with continuously synchronized backup servers. In the event of an unexpected system failure, journal operations and published content can be restored promptly.
  • Cloud-Based Backup: Encrypted backup copies of all published articles, metadata, and journal files are securely maintained using trusted cloud storage services to provide additional redundancy.
  • Open Journal Systems (OJS): The journal operates on the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, which supports standardized metadata, preservation protocols, and interoperability with recognized digital preservation services.

2. PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)

As an Open Journal Systems (OJS) journal, VJSLHS participates in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), providing an additional layer of long-term digital preservation.

  • Published articles are securely archived through a distributed preservation network.
  • Archiving is performed automatically, ensuring the continued preservation of scholarly content without manual intervention.
  • The preservation network helps guarantee long-term accessibility, even in the event of server failures, institutional changes, or technical disruptions.

The PKP Preservation Network is widely recognized as a trusted preservation solution for open-access scholarly publishing.

3. Manuscript and Data Preservation

VJSLHS maintains secure procedures for preserving both editorial records and published scholarly materials.

  • Published Articles: Final published versions of all articles are permanently archived through the journal platform and supported preservation systems.
  • Editorial Records: Submitted manuscripts, reviewer reports, editorial correspondence, and publication records are retained securely for editorial and administrative purposes in accordance with the journal's publication policies.
  • Data Security: Access to journal data is restricted to authorized editorial personnel. Appropriate technical safeguards, secure authentication, and routine backups are implemented to protect data integrity.

4. Website Preservation and Disaster Recovery

To ensure uninterrupted access to journal content, VJSLHS follows a comprehensive disaster recovery strategy.

VJSLHS supports the long-term discoverability and preservation of published research through indexing services, DOI registration agencies, library catalogues, and academic search platforms. 6. Permanent Scholarly Record

Published articles constitute part of the permanent scholarly record. Except where corrections, retractions, or withdrawals are required in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies, published content will remain permanently accessible through the journal website and associated preservation services.
