Archiving Policy

The International Journal of Research, Innovation and Practice (IJRIP) is dedicated to the long-term preservation, accessibility, and integrity of all published scholarly content. We implement a robust digital preservation strategy to ensure that research remains permanently available to the global academic community for future generations.

1. Digital Preservation Strategy

IJRIP utilizes a comprehensive, multi-layered approach to digital preservation. This strategy combines local and cloud-based storage, integration with dedicated preservation networks, and third-party indexing support. Our infrastructure includes:

  • Primary and Backup Servers: All journal content is hosted on a secure primary server and continuously mirrored to a backup server. In the unlikely event of a primary server failure, the journal can be fully restored and made operational within 48 hours.
  • Cloud Storage: A secure, regularly updated copy of the journal’s entire content is maintained on Google Drive, providing a reliable third layer of redundancy.
  • Open Journal Systems (OJS) Platform: As the journal operates on OJS, it supports modern preservation workflows that ensure structural consistency and metadata standards for long-term access.

2. PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)

Operating on the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, IJRIP is integrated with the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN). This network provides critical safeguards:

  • All published articles are securely archived across a distributed network of trusted preservation nodes.
  • The system preserves journal content automatically, removing the need for manual intervention.
  • This ensures that access to the journal continues uninterrupted, even in the event of data loss, technical failure, or unexpected platform disruption.

PKP PN is recognized globally as a robust and reliable solution for the preservation of open-access scholarly content.

3. Manuscript and Data Preservation

We maintain high standards for the management of both submitted and published materials:

  • Accepted Manuscripts: The final versions of all published articles are permanently archived on our platform and through the PKP PN.
  • Rejected Manuscripts: Submissions that are not accepted are stored securely for internal administrative records. Authors may request the removal of their rejected files at any time.
  • Secure Storage: All manuscripts and supplementary files are protected via encryption, strict access controls, and regular data integrity checks.

4. Website Archiving and Disaster Recovery

To ensure the continuous availability of the journal website and its archives:

  • Website data and published articles are stored on a live primary server, with a full mirror copy maintained on a backup server.
  • Backups are created regularly, allowing for rapid system restoration in the event of downtime.
  • Google Drive serves as an additional safeguard, ensuring that up-to-date copies of essential journal content are always available off-site.

5. Indexing and Third-Party Archival Support

IJRIP enhances the discoverability and preservation of its content through trusted indexing and abstracting platforms. These services maintain metadata and, in many cases, full-text availability, acting as external archives.

We are indexed or archived in the following databases:

  • Google Scholar
  • Crossref (DOI assignment)
  • ResearchGate
  • J-Gate
  • ROAD (Directory of Open Access Scholarly Resources)
  • Scilit
  • Semantic Scholar
  • WorldCat
  • Index Copernicus

These partnerships help preserve published content across multiple global repositories, expanding the reach of the research and ensuring long-term access.
